Visual Inspection Procedure for the LED American Flag
​All inspections should follow IPC‑A‑610 (Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies), Class 2 standards.
Inspection Equipment:
​
For visual inspection of solder joints and components, the following simple tools are recommended:
​

Magnifying glass (3×–5×) – for checking solder joints, bridges, and LED orientation.

Smartphone camera with zoom (up to ~10×) – useful for close‑up inspection and capturing photos for later review.

Good lighting source – desk lamp or LED ring light to highlight solder fillets and component placement.
​
Visual check

Inspect solder joints for cold joints, bridges, cracks, voids, insufficient wetting, or missed connections.

Verify the Schottky diode orientation (cathode stripe toward positive supply).

​Verify that the red (+) and black (–) 24 VDC power supply wires are properly connected to the corresponding input pads on the circuit board.
