LED American Flag
Recommended Order of Assembly & Electrical Testing

Process Steps for Assembly

Bottom-side Circuit Board Assembly

Solder the surface‑mount components, resistors and diode on the bottom side of the circuit board, following the provided instructions.

Topside Circuit Board Assembly

Install the through‑hole LEDs on the top side of the circuit board and solder their leads on the bottom side, per the provided instructions. (Read the recommendation below before proceeding.)

Recommendation

Before installing all of the LEDs, it is strongly advised to first assemble and solder a validation test circuit, per the instructions. After completing this test circuit, follow the instructions to electrically test it for proper operation. This ensures the SMT resistors and diode are correctly installed, verifies LED polarity orientation, and confirms soldering quality before committing to all LEDs.

Additional Recommendation – Section Polarity Verification

The LED American flag kit consists of four different sections, each with slightly different LED configuration and polarity orientations. After successfully completing and testing the first circuit, it is recommended to assemble and solder one test circuit from each of the remaining three sections. Testing these additional circuits ensures you fully understand the polarity orientation across all sections. If these test circuits function correctly, you can be 100% confident in your assembly approach before proceeding with full installation.

Test Circuit Electrical Power Configuration

If you choose to perform electrical testing prior to full assembly (recommended), complete and electrically validate the test circuit(s). If you are confident in your work and prefer not to perform validation testing, you may skip this step and fully assemble the circuit board and then skip to the 24 VDC & Fuse Assembly.

Electrically wire the 24 VDC test circuit as per the Test Circuit Power Connection Instructions.

Perform Test Circuit Electrical Test

Apply electrical power to the test circuit board as instructed. If the test circuit is fully functional and all LEDs operate correctly, proceed to assemble and test the three additional circuits before performing full assembly.

If the test circuit is not 100% functional, refer to the troubleshooting and repair section to correct the issue before continuing.

24 VDC & Fuse Assembly

After the circuit board is fully assembled, wire the 24 VDC power assembly as per the instructions provide.

Fully Assembled Kit Electrical Test

Apply electrical power to the fully assembled circuit board to validate that all LEDs are fully functional. Refer to the troubleshooting and repair section to correct any problems before completing the assembly.

Final Assembly

Mount the circuit board to the enclosure as per the instructions and perform a final electrical test.
